Our team sweeps and services chimneys and flues across Parklands. Even newer installations need a regular sweep to keep drawing well and to stay safe.
Parklands grew quickly from the late 1990s onward, and much of it is made up of secure complexes, cluster homes and family houses in estates. Most of these homes were built without a chimney, so adding a fireplace usually means planning a new flue through a modern roof, or choosing a unit that does not need one. Homeowners’ associations often have rules about what can be seen from the street, so the finish of the flue and cowl matters.
The area is also flat and open to the wind that blows across the Blaauwberg coast. Smaller homes sit close together, so we position flues to clear neighbouring roofs and windows and avoid sending smoke into the next-door courtyard. Getting these details right is what keeps both you and the neighbours happy.

If your HOA allows wood burning, a closed-combustion unit gives strong heat with less smoke than an open fire. Take a look at our freestanding closed-combustion range from R7,490, which includes compact models for smaller lounges.
Gas is a favourite in Parklands because it is clean, quick to light and easy to live with in a townhouse. We do the gas line and installation and issue the Certificate of Compliance required by law.
For units where the body corporate will not allow any external flue, a bio-ethanol or electric fireplace is the simplest way to get a flame in the lounge.

Parklands gardens and courtyards tend to be compact, so a braai has to earn its space. We design built-in braais to the right width for your patio, install gas braais that sit neatly against a wall, and fit small pizza ovens where there is room. We take care with chimney height and placement so smoke clears the boundary wall and does not drift into the neighbours’ living areas.

Call +27 73 209 3004Yes. Most Parklands homes were built without one, so we install a new flue through the roof or recommend a gas, bio-ethanol or electric unit that needs little or no flue. We check the structure and your HOA rules first.
In most complexes and estates you do, especially when the flue will be visible. We can supply product specs and a description of the flue route to support your application.
A wall-mounted gas fireplace or a compact closed-combustion unit usually works best. Gas saves space because there is no wood to store, and we include the Certificate of Compliance.
Not if it is planned properly. We size the hood and chimney and position the braai so smoke clears the boundary wall, and gas braais produce very little smoke at all.
Once a year is a good rule if you burn wood regularly. Newer flues still collect soot, and a sweep keeps the draw strong and lowers the risk of a chimney fire.
