Yes. A large share of our Constantia work is in older and heritage-style homes. We assess the existing flue and structure first, then recommend a freestanding or closed-combustion fireplace that suits the space and meets current safety standards.
For a regularly used wood-burning fireplace we recommend a sweep and safety check at least once a year, ideally before winter. Older Constantia chimneys that haven't been serviced in a while should be inspected before first use.
In most cases, yes. We build indoor and outdoor built-in braais with correct venting and flue work. We visit, assess your patio or entertainment area, and quote on a braai that fits the space and your finishes.
For big, open-plan Constantia living areas we usually recommend a closed-combustion or double-sided unit, which holds heat far better than an open fire. We size the unit to the room so you are not under- or over-heating the space.
