Description

A leaking roof around the flue is one of the most common fireplace complaints we see after a Cape winter. The SM Slope Roof Flashing prevents it by forming a tight, flexible collar between the flue pipe and the roof sheet or tiles. It is made from EPDM, a synthetic rubber that copes with sun, rain and heat, and its base measures 505mm by 609mm for good coverage on a pitched roof.

SM Slope Roof Flashing Uses

This EPDM roof flashing is designed for sloped roofs of all common types: clay or concrete tiles and metal sheeting. The stepped cone can be trimmed to suit any flue from 75mm up to 200mm, so the same part covers small gas flues and larger wood fireplace flues. It is intended for insulated flues.

Specifications

  • Material: EPDM synthetic rubber
  • Flue size range: 75 to 200mm
  • Base size: 505mm x 609mm
  • Heat resistance: up to 100°C continuous, 135°C for short periods
  • Roof types: tile, concrete and metal slope roofs

Fitting note

Cut the cone just below the ring that matches your flue so the rubber grips tightly. The base is then shaped to the roof profile, sealed and fixed. Correct placement under the upper tiles or sheet is what keeps water out, so we recommend a trained installer. EPDM Flashing FAQs

Is this the right 200mm flashing for a flat roof?

No. The SM slope model is for pitched roofs. A flat roof needs a different flashing so water drains away properly. Tell us your roof type and we will point you to the right part.
