Description
Our 400mm 45 degree elbow is a stainless steel bend for wide flue systems, such as big braai chimneys and large solid fuel installations. Two of them in a row let you step the flue sideways and then carry on straight up.

Where this elbow pipe is used
A 45 degree elbow is the gentle way to change direction. It keeps flue gases moving smoothly, which helps the fire draw and reduces soot build-up compared with a sharp turn. Use it to clear a roof truss, line up with an existing opening, or shift the flue to a better exit point on the roof. As it is non-insulated, it must keep the correct clearance from timber and other combustibles.
Fitting note
Match it to 400mm ducts and fittings of the same system. Our team can measure the run and supply the full stainless steel flue kit, including straight lengths, the cowl and flashing. Every joint is pushed fully home and secured so the flue stays tight in strong wind, and we check the height above the roof so the draw is right. Which cowl and flashing go with it?
That depends on the appliance and roof. Tell us what the flue serves, the roof type and pitch, and we will match a cowl and flashing in the same diameter so the system stays weatherproof.
Can I use two 45 degree bends instead of a 90?
Usually yes, and it often works better. Two 45s give a smoother offset, which helps the draw. Keep offsets short and the flue as vertical as possible.
Not sure which parts your flue needs? Send us your measurements and we will put the list together.
