Description
Windy suburbs and smoky lounges often go together, and the 200mm storm cowl is made to break that link. This slimline end piece fits the top of a 200mm insulated (double skin) flue. Its storm design lets smoke out while making it harder for gusts to push air back down, so the fire keeps drawing on rough days.

When to choose a storm cowl
A plain cap is fine in sheltered spots, but in places that catch the south-easter or sit near tall trees or buildings, wind can cause downdraught. A storm style chimney cowl is the usual fix. The slimline shape keeps the top of the flue neat. Compare other sizes in our slimline storm cowl range or see all cowls.
Fitting note
Make sure the cowl matches your flue type. This 200mm cowl is for a double skin flue, not single skin pipe. Our chimney cowl installation team can fit it and check the flue height above your roof.
Will a storm cowl stop my fireplace smoking?
If wind is the cause, it usually helps a lot. Smoke can also come from a short flue or wet wood, so we check the whole set-up first.
