Description
Our 100mm storm end piece is the finishing part at the very top of a single skin flue run. It sits on the last length of pipe above the roof and works as a small storm cowl, shielding the opening from rain and stopping gusts from pushing smoke back down into the room. On a narrow 100mm system, a good flue end makes a real difference to how well the appliance burns.
100mm Storm End Piece Features
- Stainless steel build: resists rust from sea air and winter rain, so it keeps its shape and finish for years on a Cape Town roof.
- Made for single skin flue: sized to slot onto a 100mm single skin pipe without adapters.
- Low weight: at 0.85 kg it adds very little load to the top of the flue or the roof bracket.
- Better draw in wind: the storm shape lets smoke escape while blocking side gusts and driving rain.
What does it fit?
It suits any appliance with a 100mm single skin flue outlet, such as smaller stoves and some gas or pellet units. For double skin or insulated systems you need the matching insulated cowl instead. You can see every size in our storm cowls for single flues range, or browse all flues and accessories.
Fitting note
The cowl must sit high enough above the roof line to clear turbulence from ridges and nearby walls. Our team handles this as part of our chimney cowl installation in Cape Town, with the right flashing and brackets.
Will a storm cowl stop smoke blowing back?
In most homes, yes. A storm end helps a lot with downdraught on windy days. If smoke still comes back, the flue height or a nearby obstruction is usually the cause, and we can check that on site.
