Description

The Godin Visi 65-F is a compact cast iron insert that turns a cold, draughty open hearth into a closed wood fire you can actually heat a room with. Godin has been casting stoves in France for a very long time, and the Visi range keeps things simple: a heavy iron body, a wide glass door and steady heat. This is the no-fans model, so there is no motor noise and nothing electrical to wire in.

Godin Visi 65-F Built-in Fireplace Features

Full cast iron construction

Cast iron takes a while to warm up, then keeps giving off heat long after the flames settle. In a built-in installation that heat soaks into the surround as well, so the room stays comfortable well into the evening.

Quiet heat with no fans

Without fans the Visi 65-F relies on radiant heat through the glass and natural convection around the body. Many owners prefer it for a study, TV room or bedroom-side lounge where a fan would be a distraction.

A clear view of the fire

The glass door gives you a full picture of the flames, and the closed door means far less smoke and far less wood than an open fireplace.

Is the Visi 65-F right for your home?

At around 7 kilowatts, a rough guide is a small to medium lounge of about 40 to 70 m2 with a normal ceiling. Open-plan spaces, high ceilings and lots of glass need more heat, so share your room size with us first. If you need more output, look at the larger Visi models in our built-in fireplaces range.

Installation in Cape Town

An insert lives or dies by its surround and flue. Our team measures your opening, fits a correctly sized flue liner and cowl for Cape wind, and builds the cladding to suit your room. See our built-in fireplace design and cladding service, read our Godin fireplace guide, or browse the full Godin fireplace range.

Godin Visi 65-F FAQs

What does “no fans” mean on the Visi 65-F?

It means the insert has no electric blowers. Heat moves into the room through the glass and by natural air flow around the cast iron body. It is quieter and needs no power point, but the heat spreads a little more slowly than with a fan model.

Can the Visi 65-F go into my existing chimney?

Usually, yes. We check the size and condition of your opening and chimney, then fit a liner from the insert up to the cowl. If the opening is too big or too small, we adjust it with a new surround.

Thinking of closing up an old open hearth? Send us photos of your fireplace and our team will tell you if the Visi 65-F fits and what the installation involves.
