It is a freestanding gas fire pit with a slim, rectangular concrete body and a line of flame running down the centre. The clean shape works on a modern deck as easily as on a traditional patio, and it gives guests a natural place to gather.

A designer fire slab for outdoor living
The body measures 45 x 160 x 40 cm and weighs around 250 kg, so it sits firmly once placed. You can choose a Dark Grey Concrete, Light Grey Terazzo or White Terazzo finish, and dress the burner with lava rock in red or black, or with white crushed pebbles, to match your space.
Stainless steel where it counts
Its burner, chassis and cover plate are all brushed 304 stainless steel, which handles sea air and winter rain well. The cover plate has a handle, so you can close the burner when the fire is off and keep leaves and water out.
Gas for steady, controllable heat
Gas gives you an even flame you can turn up or down without fuss. The Slab comes in a manual version, which has a safety valve that shuts off the gas if the flame goes out, or a remote control version. It ships with a regulator plus a hose fitted with its own safety valve, and gas use is low.
Is the Slab right for your space?
The long shape suits a deck, patio, pool area or the lounge area of a restaurant or wedding venue. It must stand level outdoors, and can also go in a covered area with good ventilation, which makes it a neat balcony fire pit option for apartments. Can I use the SAFire Slab firepit with a gas bottle?
It is designed to run from a fixed LP gas line rather than a loose bottle next to it. We install the line and regulator so the supply is safe and the fire pit looks tidy.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. The Slab has a 1-year limited warranty covering moving parts such as the valve, control and pilot light. Rust is excluded, so we suggest closing the cover plate when it is not in use.
Is it a good firepit for South Africa’s weather?
It is made locally with weather-resistant stainless steel and a concrete or terazzo body, so it handles sun, rain and coastal air. As a firepit, South Africa homeowners can use it year round on a covered or open deck.
