Description
The Kratki AB/S Gaz gives you the look of a modern log fire at the press of a button. It is a closed combustion free standing gas fireplace, sometimes called a freestanding gas stove, with a minimal steel body, blackened glass around the viewing window and a set of realistic ceramic logs. A digital hand-held remote controls the flame from your chair, so there is no wood to carry and no ash to sweep up.
Kratki AB/S Gaz Features
Sealed and safe
The AB/S Gaz uses a coaxial flue, a pipe within a pipe. Fresh air for the flame comes in through the outer pipe and exhaust goes out through the inner one, so the fire is sealed off from the room. That keeps indoor air clean and makes it a safe choice for living areas.
A real fire look
Premium ceramic logs and blackened glass framing give a convincing wood-fire effect. The heat-resistant glass is high quality, which helps with safety and lifespan.
No electricity needed
The gas system is battery powered, so the fire still works during load shedding. Heat comes from both radiant warmth through the glass and natural convection around the steel body.
Size and flue
The steel unit measures 52.8 x 42.2 x 105.1 cm and weighs 104 kg. It uses a 100/150 mm coaxial flue from the top.
Is the AB/S Gaz right for your home?
Kratki rates this 4.5kW gas fireplace for about 70 to 140 m3 of room volume. With a normal ceiling that is a small to medium lounge, a study or a bedroom suite. It suits homeowners who want easy, clean heat rather than a big wood fire, and it is a good entry point into the Kratki gas fireplace range. Installation in Cape Town
Gas fireplaces must be installed by a registered gas installer. Our team runs the gas line, fits the coaxial flue with the right terminal for Cape wind and rain, and issues the certificate of compliance. Read more about our gas fireplace installation in Cape Town and the full Kratki range.
AB/S Gaz FAQs
Does the Kratki AB/S Gaz work during load shedding?
Yes. The gas system runs on batteries, not mains power, so you can still light it and use the remote when the electricity is off.
Is a closed combustion gas fireplace better than a flueless one?
A closed combustion fireplace like the AB/S Gaz is sealed from the room and vents outside through its flue, so no combustion gases enter the house. It needs a flue, but gives you cleaner indoor air.
