Description
Designed to be framed into a wall, the Hydrofire Pi Resort 80 STD suits homeowners who want a clean built-in look, with side glass panels that let you see the flames from more than one angle. It is made from steel with an airtight combustion chamber, and at 9.8kW it gives a solid amount of heat from a fairly compact unit.
Hydrofire Pi Resort 80 STD Features
Side glass for a wider view
Glass on the front and sides opens up the fire, so it looks good from the couch and from across the room. As a side glass fireplace it reads more like a window of flame than a small door in the wall.
Efficient steel firebox
The sealed steel chamber controls how much air reaches the fire, which helps it burn longer and cleaner. Hydrofire rates it at 80% efficiency, which means less wood for the same comfort.
Built to sit inside your wall
The Pi Resort measures 72 x 51.5 x 111 cm and weighs 125 kg. It connects to a 200 mm flue from the top. Because it is built into the structure, it is best planned early in a build or renovation, so the opening, flue route and cladding all come together neatly.
Is the Pi Resort 80 right for your home?
Our listing gives a heating area of about 65 m2, a good match for a medium lounge or a compact open-plan space. Larger areas and high ceilings need more thought, so send us your plans and we will check the sizing. Browse other built-in fireplaces, or read our Hydrofire fireplace guide to compare models.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team frames the opening, fits the 200 mm flue with a cowl and flashing that suit Cape wind and winter rain, and finishes the surround in the material you choose. See our built-in fireplace design and cladding service or the full Hydrofire range.
Hydrofire Pi Resort 80 FAQs
Is the Pi Resort 80 STD a good choice for a renovation?
Yes, as long as the wall and roof allow a straight, safe flue route. We visit the site, check the space and structure, and then design the opening and cladding around the fire before any work starts.
Does the Pi Resort come with a warranty?
Hydrofire lists the Pi Resort 80 STD as CE certified with a 2 year warranty. Our team handles the installation and compliance, so the unit is fitted the way the maker intends.
What wood should I burn in it?
Use dry, seasoned hardwood such as rooikrans or blue gum. Wet wood smokes, dirties the glass and gives less heat, so store your wood under cover through winter.
