When you need a lot of heat from one fire, the Hydrofire L11 Vulcan is the model to look at. It is the biggest fireplace in the Hydrofire collection, made entirely from cast iron and built into a wall so it gives the output of a large stove while taking up very little floor space. A wide glass window puts the whole fire on show.

16kW for very large spaces
With 16kW of output, the Vulcan fireplace is made for big open-plan homes, double-volume lounges and rooms that need to be the warm heart of the house in winter.
Cast iron fireplace insert
The Vulcan weighs about 175 kg, and all of it is cast iron. That mass stores heat and keeps releasing it long after the fire burns down, which means steady comfort and fewer cold spots.
Room for long logs
The wide firebox accepts long logs, so you can load several pieces at once and enjoy a long, even burn with less cutting and less tending.
A wide view of the flames
The large glass window turns the fire into a feature wall centrepiece. Our team can clad the surround in plaster, stone, tiles or steel to suit your interior.

The L11 Vulcan insert holds CE certification, so it meets European safety and performance standards.
Is the Hydrofire L11 Vulcan right for your home?
Our product data gives a heating area of 105m² to 195m². That suits very large spaces only. In a normal lounge it would be far too hot, so we will suggest a smaller unit from our built-in fireplace range if needed.

Our data rates it for 105m² to 195m². It suits large open-plan areas or connected living spaces. We check your floor plan and ceiling height before confirming it is the right size.
Can the L11 Vulcan go into an existing fireplace?
If your current opening is large enough and the chimney is sound, it may fit. Most installs need a new cladded chamber, which our team designs and builds as part of the job.
