It is made from new, non-recycled cast iron, from the door to the body and the thick top plate, so it holds heat well and keeps radiating warmth long after the flames have settled. It is compact, simple to run and well priced for what you get.

Gentle, controllable heat
The Catalina has a 5kW nominal output that you can turn down to 2kW or up to 7kW. That range keeps a small lounge cosy without driving you out of the room, and 78% efficiency means less wood for the same warmth.
A top you can use
The flat cast iron top is ideal for warming a kettle or a pot of soup, which is handy during load shedding.
Practical inside
The firebox is lined with cast iron plates. Fire rope seals keep the door tight, the baffle plate lifts out for cleaning and a cast iron riddling grate lets ash fall through to a removable ash pan.
Easy to place
At 39.5 x 36.3 x 59.1 cm and about 63 kg, it fits where a big stove will not. The 125 mm flue can leave from the top or the rear, which helps when you are working around beams or an existing chimney.
Is the Catalina fireplace right for your home?

It is built for rooms of about 60 m2. In a larger, open-plan space it will struggle on cold nights, so we would suggest a higher output model instead.
