Cast iron from door to top
The door, body and heavy top are all cast iron. It warms up evenly and keeps releasing heat after the flames die down, which means fewer cold corners and less wood over a long evening.
A top that earns its keep
The wide flat surface takes a kettle or a pot, which comes in handy when load shedding hits at supper time.
Two-stage air for a cleaner burn
A lower vent on the door feeds air under the grate to get the fire going. A second vent above the door adds secondary air, which burns off more smoke and runs a pre-heated air wash over the glass so it stays clear.
Built for easy use
Fire rope seals the door, a cast iron baffle plate slows the heat on its way to the flue, and a riddling grate helps clear ash. The legs are removable. It measures 58 x 44 x 70 cm, weighs 125 kg, has a 70% efficiency rating and fits a 150 mm flue at the top or rear.

Can I cook on top of the Hydrofire Cali?
Yes, within reason. The flat cast iron top heats a kettle or keeps a pot warm, which is handy during power cuts. It is not a full stove, so expect slow cooking rather than fast boiling.
Can the Cali connect through the back wall?
Yes. It has a top or rear 150 mm flue outlet, so we can run the flue through a wall or straight up through the ceiling, depending on your home.
