The Hydrofire Aurum is a compact cast iron wood stove for smaller spaces, where a larger unit would overheat the room and burn more wood than you need. Premium cast iron
The Aurum is made from cast iron and weighs 69 kg. Cast iron absorbs heat and lets it out slowly, so a small room stays at a comfortable temperature instead of swinging between too hot and too cold.
A clear view of the fire
The large glass door is kept clean by an air wash system, which sends a curtain of air down the inside of the glass. You see the flames, not a layer of soot, and cleaning is quick.
Efficient and cleaner burning
With 83% efficiency and low emissions, the Aurum gets a lot of heat out of a small load of wood. That makes it a good choice for people who want warmth without a big woodpile.
Compact and easy to place
It measures 44 x 33 x 61 cm and takes a 125 mm flue from the top or the rear. That flexibility helps in tight rooms or where an old chimney is already in place.

Is the Hydrofire Aurum too small for a lounge?
For a compact lounge, no. It is rated for about 30 m2, so in a large or open-plan room it will struggle. Tell us your room size and we will recommend the right output.
Can it be installed in a flat or townhouse?
Usually yes, as long as a flue can run safely to the outside and the body corporate approves. We check the flue route on site.
