Description
If you like the look of a traditional stove but want modern combustion inside, the Hergom E-30 S is a strong choice. It belongs to the Hergom Classic Series and is the smaller sister of the E-30 M, with ornate side panels, a big L-shaped door handle and a solid cast iron finish that moves heat into the room well.
Hergom E-30 S Classic Series Cast Iron Fireplace Features
Cast iron that holds its warmth
The 110 kg cast iron body warms evenly and keeps releasing heat after the fire has burnt down. Inside, the firebox is lined with white cast iron panels that reflect heat and brighten the flame picture.
Clean burning and clear glass
Primary and secondary air controls let you set a lively fire or a slow overnight burn. Secondary combustion burns off more of the smoke, and an air wash system sweeps the inside of the glass so you keep a clear view. Efficiency is rated at 79.0%.
Practical everyday use
The firebox takes logs of around 40 centimetres, a blind grill in the floor lets ash drop through, and the ashpan slides out for cleaning. The flue leaves from the top at 150 mm, and the unit measures 41.8 x 59 x 69.9 cm.
Is the E-30 S right for your home?
Hergom rates this 9kW wood fireplace at a heating area of about 87 m2, which covers most medium lounges and smaller open-plan rooms with a normal ceiling. For a bigger space, compare it with the E-30 M or the rest of our freestanding fireplaces.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team supplies and installs the E-30 S with a 150 mm flue, a cowl that copes with the south-easter and flashing that keeps winter rain out. We also sort the compliance certificate. Hergom E-30 S FAQs
What is the difference between the E-30 S and the E-30 M?
They share the same Classic Series styling and cast iron build. The S is the smaller model, so it suits a medium room, while the M has a bigger firebox and more output for larger living areas.
Is a Hergom fireplace good for a Cape Town winter?
Yes. Heavy cast iron and a closed, controlled burn give steady heat through long, wet evenings. With the right flue and cowl fitted, the fire draws well even on windy nights.
How long are the logs it can take?
The firebox comfortably takes logs of around 40 centimetres, so standard bagged firewood fits without cutting.
