Description
Retro lines with a soft modern edge give the Charnwood Skye 7 its character. It is the larger version of the Skye 5, with landscape proportions and a big window for a full view of the fire. On the store stand version, the stove sits higher and the stand gives you a handy log store underneath.
Charnwood Skye 7 Store Stand Features
A very clean burn
The Skye 7 is the cleanest wood burner in the current Charnwood range. A single lever controls the burn rate, and air wash technology keeps the glass clearer for longer, so you see more fire and less soot.
Wood or other solid fuels
As a multi fuel stove, it has a converter grate. You can set the grate bars flat for wood or open them for anthracite, and the riddle tool works from the outside with the door closed.
Built for steady heat
The body combines cast iron and steel and weighs 177 kg. Output is 7kW with 81% efficiency, so the stove turns more of each log into warmth. Convection panels move warm air around the room, and heat shields at the back help protect the wall.
Flexible flue connection
The Skye 7 takes a 150 mm flue from the top or the rear, using an inverted flue collar for a neat join. The unit measures 39 x 57 x 86 cm, and there is an option for an external air supply.
Is the Skye 7 right for your home?
Charnwood gives a heating area of 105.5 m² for the Skye 7, so it can cover a good-sized lounge with a normal ceiling. Lots of glass or a double-volume space will need more thought, so send us your measurements first. See more options on our Charnwood page and in our freestanding fireplaces range.
Installation in Cape Town
Our fireplace installation team fits the Skye 7 with the right 150 mm flue, cowl and flashing for Cape wind and rain, plus the correct hearth and clearances.
Charnwood Skye 7 FAQs
What is the store stand for?
It lifts the stove to a better viewing height and gives you an open space underneath to keep a few logs dry and close at hand.
Can the Charnwood fireplace burn coal?
Yes. Open the grate bars and it burns anthracite. For wood, close the bars to a flat bed so the logs burn on a layer of ash.
