Description
Retro looks with modern burning sets the Charnwood Skye 7 apart. It is the larger version of the Skye 5, with landscape proportions, softened edges and a large window that gives a full view of the fire. On the low stand it sits close to the hearth for a grounded, classic look.
Charnwood Skye 7 Stove Features
Wide window, retro style
The landscape shape and big glass panel let you enjoy the flames from anywhere in the lounge. The design has a mid-century feel that suits both modern homes and older Cape houses with a fireplace hearth.
Multi fuel flexibility
As a multi fuel stove, the Skye 7 burns wood or suitable smokeless fuels. That gives you options when good firewood is scarce in the middle of winter.
Efficient and cleaner burning
Charnwood rates it at 81% efficiency with an A+ energy class. It is Eco-Design 2022 ready and holds ClearSkies 5 accreditation, so it burns well beyond the standard of an old open fire.
Neat flue connection
An inverted flue collar gives a clean join between stove and pipe. The 150 mm flue can leave from the top or the rear. The stove weighs 157 kg, measures 39 × 57 × 71 cm, and comes in black or a choice of colours such as almond, blue and gunmetal.
Is the Skye 7 right for your home?
Charnwood rates the Skye 7 to heat about 105.5 m2, with an output range of 5 to 11 kW. That suits a large lounge or an open-plan room. Our cast iron fireplace buying checks are worth a read, and you can compare more freestanding fireplaces.
Installation in Cape Town
We supply and install the Skye 7 Low Stand freestanding on a hearth plate or inside an existing fireplace, with a 150 mm flue, cowl and flashing built for Cape wind and rain. See our fireplace installation service and the rest of the Charnwood stove range.
Charnwood Skye 7 FAQs
What is the difference between the Skye 5 and Skye 7?
The Skye 7 is the bigger model, with a wider firebox and more output, so it suits larger rooms. Both share the same retro styling and large window.
Can a multi fuel stove burn coal?
It can burn approved smokeless fuels as well as wood. Avoid household coal that is not suited to the stove, as it can damage the grate and dirty the glass. Our team can advise on the right fuel.
