It uses Charnwood’s BLU burning technology to reach 82% efficiency, well beyond the 2022 Eco-design standard, and it meets Defra exemption limits for burning wood cleanly in smoke control areas. Add a classic shape and a large window, and you have a fireplace that is as easy to look at as it is to live with.

A clean burning wood stove
BLU technology burns the gases that older stoves send up the chimney as smoke. You get more heat from each log, cleaner glass and far less smoke drifting over the neighbours.
Big window, classic lines
For a stove of this size, the Cranmore 7 has a very generous window. Compared with the smaller Cranmore 5 it is a little wider, while height and depth stay the same, so you get a bigger view of the fire in a compact body measuring 40.3 x 53.5 x 65.1 cm.
Simple control, easy cleaning
A single push-pull Quattro Flow lever sets the burn rate, while Air Wash keeps the Schott Robax glass clearer for longer. The sliding fire bed makes ash removal tidy, and a drop-down throat plate lets the chimney be swept through the stove.
Flexible output
Nominal output is 7kW, with a range from 5kW up to 11kW at full burn. That suits Cape Town well: gentle heat on a mild evening, real warmth when a cold front comes in. It takes logs of around 39 centimetres and connects to a 150 mm flue at the top or rear.

What is the difference between the Charnwood Cranmore 5 and 7?
The 7 is the wider of the two, with matching height and depth. Its output range runs up to 11kW at maximum burn, so it suits a slightly larger room than the smaller model.
What does BLU technology do?
It is Charnwood’s clean burn system. It improves combustion so more of the wood becomes heat, smoke is reduced and the stove meets strict emissions limits.
Does the Cranmore 7 come in colours?
Black is standard. Seven special order colours are available, including Almond, Gunmetal and Pewter, but they need to be ordered in advance.
