It hangs on the wall or recesses to sit flush, which makes it a smart choice for apartments, townhouses and lounges where a wood fireplace is not practical.

Slim enough for almost any wall
The unit measures 90.5 x 60 x 20.5 cm and weighs 24 kg. The shallow depth means it can go into an existing wall with a recess of between 160 and 200 millimetres, or into a simple box built off the wall. Two holes in the back let the gas pipe come in neatly out of sight.
Choose your finish
You can pick a brushed stainless steel frame or a bold black frame, and a stainless steel or black mirror backing. White pebbles come standard, with black coals or fire glass as alternatives, so the fire matches your décor rather than fighting it.
Simple, safe everyday use
A piezo spark lights the burner with one press. The ODS (oxygen depletion sensor) safety system shuts the gas off if oxygen levels in the room drop, and on full flame the unit uses roughly 0.42 kilograms of gas per hour. The body is stainless steel with heat-resistant coatings, so upkeep is minimal.
Is it the right size for your home?
Chad-O-Chef rates it at 6kW, enough to heat up to 72 m2 or 233 m³ in good conditions. Because it is flueless, the room must be at least 56 cubic metres in volume, so it suits a medium lounge, dining room or entertainment area rather than a small bedroom. Does a flueless gas fireplace need a chimney?
No. The Picture burns cleanly enough to run without a flue, which is why it is so easy to add to an existing home. It does need a large enough room and normal ventilation, which we check on site.
Is there a guarantee on the Picture fireplace?
Yes, it carries a two-year quality guarantee from the maker. Keeping the ODS sensor clean and having the gas line checked by a registered installer helps it keep running safely for many winters.
