Description
The Chad-O-Chef Classic Fireplace brings a real gas flame into rooms where a chimney was never an option. It is a flueless built-in gas fireplace that runs on LPG and is made from stainless steel, so it slots into a recess in the wall with no flue pipe through the roof. With 9kW of heat, it warms a large living area quickly, and it lights with a simple piezo spark.

No chimney, less building
Because it is flueless, there is no flue run, cowl or roof flashing to install. That keeps the building work down and makes it a good fit for apartments, townhouses and renovations.
Finishes to suit your room
You can choose a brushed stainless steel frame or a black frame, and a stainless steel backing or a black mirror backing. White pebbles come standard, with black coals or fire glass as alternatives. That makes it easy to match a classic fireplace look or a sharper modern style.
Safety built in
The Classic uses an ODS (oxygen depletion sensor) safety system, which shuts the gas off if oxygen levels in the room drop. The stainless steel body has heat-resistant coatings and needs very little upkeep.
Size and heat
It measures 103.5 x 60 x 28 cm and gives 9kW of heat. Chad-O-Chef rates it to heat about 108 m2 or 399 m3. Gas use is modest, and the flame is easy to control.
Is the Classic right for your home?
It suits medium to large lounges and open-plan areas up to about 108 m2. Flueless units need a room that is big enough and has some ventilation, so very small closed rooms are not suitable. Installation in Cape Town
The Classic is built into a recess in a wall, which needs a load-bearing lintel above it, and the gas line connects from behind. It must be installed by a registered gas installer.
