Description
An Earthfire ceramic fire pit brings the look of a hand-glazed pot to your garden, with the cosy glow of a real wood fire. Ceramic is a natural store of heat, so it keeps warming the people around it long after the flames settle. For a patio, courtyard or covered stoep, it is a charming alternative to a steel bowl or a gas burner.
Earthfire Ceramic Fire Pit Features
Warmth that lasts
Thick clay walls soak up heat while the fire burns and release it slowly. You get gentle, steady warmth rather than a hot front and a cold back, which makes long chats outside far more pleasant.
A handmade piece
Earthfire pots are shaped and glazed by hand, so small colour changes from one pot to the next are normal. Each one becomes a feature in your outdoor space, lit or not.
Easy to live with
A ceramic firepit is simple to use. Light a small, dry wood fire, let it burn down, and clear the fine ash once it is cold. There is no gas bottle to swap and no rust to fight.

Is it right for your space?
It suits small groups of four to six people on a patio, deck or courtyard. Many people also ask us about a balcony fire pit; that only works on an open balcony with a heat-safe base and good airflow, and you must check your body corporate rules first. In Cape Town, place the pot out of the direct south-easter so the fire burns evenly. You can compare more styles in our firepits range.
Setting it up in Cape Town
We deliver the pot and help you choose a safe, level spot. For a full outdoor seating area, our boma and fire pit builds team can design it around the pot. For an indoor version, read our guide to the ceramic fireplace, or see the full Earthfire range.
Ceramic Fire Pit FAQs
Will the clay crack in the cold?
Earthfire uses a clay mix made for fire, so normal use is fine. The main risk is moisture: keep the pot dry and covered when not in use, and never light it when it is wet.
Can I braai on it?
It is designed as a heat and flame feature rather than a braai. For cooking, look at a proper braai or a ceramic table top braai from the same range.
