Description
The Godin Calina is a cast iron wood stove with a tall, upright shape. At 97.1 cm high but only 42.7 cm wide, it gives you a proper fire and real warmth without taking over the floor. With 7kW of output it is well matched to the size of many Cape Town lounges.
Godin Calina Cast Iron Stove Features
Cast iron that keeps the heat
The Calina weighs 110 kg, and that mass of cast iron is what makes it comfortable to live with. It warms up steadily, then keeps radiating heat after the flames die down, so the room stays even and you use less wood across an evening.
A slim, upright design
Instead of a wide, low box, the Calina rises tall and narrow. That shape suits corners, smaller hearths and rooms with a feature wall. It reads as a piece of furniture as much as a heater.
Simple wood burning
The Calina burns wood, the fuel most Cape homes already use. Dry, seasoned logs give the best heat and keep the glass cleaner.
Specifications at a glance
Our product card lists the full detail: 7kW output, wood fuel, cast iron body, 150 mm flue and dimensions of 42.7 x 40.2 x 97.1 cm.
Is the Calina fire right for your home?
As a rough guide, a 7kW stove suits a small to medium lounge of about 40 to 70 m2 with a normal ceiling. Open-plan spaces, high ceilings and lots of glass need more heat. Send us your room size and we will tell you honestly if the Calina is the right match, or suggest another from our freestanding fireplace range.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team supplies and installs the Calina with the correct 150 mm flue, cowl and roof flashing for Cape wind and winter rain, and we take care of the compliance certificate. Read about our fireplace installation in Cape Town, see the full Godin range, or our Godin fireplace guide.
Godin Calina FAQs
What size room suits the Godin Calina?
As a rough guide, 7kW suits about 40 to 70 m2. In a well insulated lounge it covers the top of that range; in a draughty room with big windows, less.
Why choose a cast iron wood stove?
Cast iron stores heat and gives it back slowly, so warmth lasts longer after the fire dies down. It is also very durable, which is why Godin has used it for generations.
Can the Calina go in a corner?
Its slim, upright body makes it a good corner stove, as long as the safe distances to walls are kept. We measure and plan the clearances on site before we install.
