Description
The Hydrofire Nero Lux BO is for homeowners who want their fire to do more than heat one room. BO stands for boiler: this model of the Nero Lux is made to connect into a water heating system, so the same fire that warms your lounge can also put heat into water for radiators or your hot water setup. It is a specialist unit, and the installation is planned as a whole system.
Hydrofire Nero Lux BO Features
A boiler fireplace
A boiler fireplace has a water jacket built around the firebox. Heat from the fire passes into the water, which is then pumped to where it is needed. If you are looking for a fireplace water heating system, this is the type of unit to start with.
Steady, efficient heat
The Nero Lux BO has a 6kW rated output with a range of 4 to 8kW and 80% efficiency. You can run it gently on mild evenings or harder in deep winter.
Solid steel build
The steel body weighs 145 kg and measures 44 x 62 x 76 cm. A top flue outlet takes a 150 mm flue.
Is the Nero Lux right for your home?
Our listed heating area for this model is 106 m2 to 173 m2, which is high for its kW rating and reflects heat shared through the water system. Because a boiler setup depends on your plumbing, pump and tank, we always size it on site rather than from a figure alone. Installation in Cape Town

Hydrofire Nero Lux BO FAQs
What does BO mean on the Nero Lux?
It refers to the boiler version. It has a water jacket so it can heat water as well as the room, unlike the standard Nero Lux, which heats the room only.
Do I need a plumber for a boiler fireplace?
Yes. The water side needs a qualified plumber for the pipework, pump, expansion and safety valves. We coordinate with them so the fire and the water system work together safely.
Can I run the Lux BO without the water connected?
No. A boiler unit must never be fired dry, as this can damage the water jacket. The system has to be filled and commissioned before the first fire.
