Hydrofire Alpha Wood Fireplace Features
A fireplace with large glass
The wide glass door is the star of the Alpha. You see the flames from across the room, which makes winter evenings feel warmer before the heat even reaches you. The matte black finish keeps the look calm and modern.
Even heat, simple control
Steel heats quickly, so the room warms up soon after lighting. Adjustable air control lets you set a fast, bright fire or a slower, longer burn. At 80% efficiency, the Alpha gets good value out of each load of wood.
Low maintenance
A removable ash pan makes cleaning out quick, with less dust on the floor. Hydrofire lists a five-year warranty on the Alpha.
Size, weight and flue
Our listing gives the Alpha as 96 x 55 x 103 cm and 110 kg, with a 150 mm flue from the top. Our team measures your space and checks clearances before we confirm the install.
Is the Alpha fireplace right for your home?
Hydrofire rates the heating area at 50 m² to 90 m². That covers most lounges and smaller open-plan spaces. It also works as a second heat source in a larger home. Compare it with other freestanding fireplaces we stock, or read our Hydrofire buyer guide for the wider range.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team supplies and installs the Alpha with a 150 mm flue, cowl and roof flashing chosen for Cape wind and winter downpours, and we deal with the compliance. See how our fireplace installation works, or browse the Hydrofire brand page.
Hydrofire Alpha FAQs
Does the Hydrofire Alpha suit a small home?
Yes, it is designed with smaller spaces in mind while still giving 8kW nominal output. Hydrofire rates it for 50 m² to 90 m², so in a very small room you would run it on a lower setting.
Is the Alpha easy to keep clean?
It is. The removable ash pan lifts out for emptying, and the adjustable air control helps you keep a clean, steady burn that is kinder to the glass.
