Cook dinner and heat the house with one fire. The Hydrofire Viki Lux is a steel wood burning cooker with a proper oven, two stove top plates and 11kW nominal output. When electricity costs keep climbing, or the power goes off at supper time, it lets you keep cooking and keep warm on wood.

Firebox, oven and hob in one
The firebox sits on the left. Next to it is a separate oven compartment for baking bread, roasting meat or slow-cooking a stew. On top, two stove top plates take your pots and pans, so the Viki Lux works as a full cooker fireplace with oven rather than a heater with a hot plate.
Warmth for the whole living area
While you cook, the steel body heats the room. As an 11kW fireplace (nominal output), it is adjustable from 7kW to 14kW, at 77% efficiency. Hydrofire rates the heating area at 65 m² to 125 m², so a kitchen and adjoining living space can both feel the benefit.
Cleaner burning
Hydrofire describes the Viki Lux as SIA 2022 Ecodesign Ready, designed to burn wood more completely and cut particle emissions. The supplier backs its steel fireplaces with a two-year limited warranty.
Size, weight and flue
The cooker measures 62 x 93 x 87 cm and weighs 160 kg, close to a standard kitchen counter height. The flue leaves from the top and is listed at 142.5 mm, so we confirm the exact flue fittings at quote stage.
Is the Viki Lux right for your home?

Can the Hydrofire Viki Lux bake bread?
Yes. The separate oven compartment is heated by the fire next to it, so you can bake, roast and slow-cook. Like any wood oven it takes a little practice to learn how much wood gives the heat you want.
Does the Viki Lux heat the house as well?
It does. With 11kW nominal output it warms the kitchen and nearby rooms while you cook. Hydrofire rates it for 65 m² to 125 m².
Where should a wood cooker go?
Usually in the kitchen or an open-plan kitchen and lounge, with a clear route for the flue to the roof. We check clearances and the flue path on site.
