Description
Long, low and wide, the Hydrofire Merida is a built-in fireplace for people who want the fire to stretch across the wall. Sold as the Merida IT100K, it burns wood, puts out up to 14.5kW and has a steel body that is 104 cm wide. It fits a modern cladded wall, a TV wall with the fire below, or a renovated chimney breast.

A wide fire view
The landscape shape (104 x 47 x 65 cm) gives a broad, letterbox view of the flames. It suits a contemporary room and lets the fire be seen from most seats in an open-plan space.
Plenty of output
With 14.5kW on tap, the Merida can bring a cold room up to temperature quickly. You control the burn rate with the air supply, so you can run a strong fire on a wet July evening and a gentler one on a mild night.
Practical build
At 130 kg it is manageable to install compared with many built-in units. It uses a 180 mm flue from the top and has an efficiency of 73 percent, which is a solid figure for a wide, open-view wood burning fireplace.
Is the Merida right for your home?
Hydrofire lists a heating area of 95 m2 for this model. That suits a large lounge or a living and dining area together. Rooms with very high ceilings or lots of glass may feel cooler, so send us your floor plan and we will confirm the fit. Our built-in fireplace design and cladding team builds the opening, adds heat-safe insulation and cladding, and runs the 180 mm flue with a cowl and roof flashing that stand up to the south-easter and winter rain.

Is the Hydrofire Merida a closed combustion fireplace?
Yes. The fire burns behind a glass door, so you control the air and get far more heat from each log than an open hearth gives you.
Can I put a TV above the Merida?
It is possible with the right cladding, insulation and clearances. We plan the wall so the area above the fire stays at a safe temperature for electronics.
