Description
Small rooms get cold too, and a big stove is overkill for them. The Hydrofire Parma L solves that with a neat, legged steel fireplace that weighs just 41 kg, takes up very little floor space and still gives you a proper wood fire behind glass.
Hydrofire Parma L Features
Compact size, generous view
At 38.6 x 38.4 x 65.3 cm, the Parma L fits beside a bookcase, in a bedroom corner or in a study. The window is large for a small stove, and the raised legs lift the flame so you can enjoy it from a chair or the bed.
Low wood use
The small firebox and 80% efficiency mean you burn less wood for the warmth you get. Primary and secondary combustion help it burn cleanly, and Hydrofire lists it as SIA 2022 Ecodesign Ready.
Clean glass and simple control
An airwash system keeps the glass clearer for longer. One air control on the outside and a long, rounded steel handle make it easy to run, even for someone new to a wood stove.
Easy to clean
Inside, vermiculite lines the firebox. Ash drops through a cast iron grate into a pan you lift out, so cleaning takes a few minutes.
Is the Parma L right for your room?
Hydrofire rates it for 48 to 57 m2. That makes this small wood fireplace a good fit for a compact lounge, a cottage, a large bedroom or an office. For an open-plan space, look at a bigger hydrofire fireplace in our freestanding fireplaces range, or read our guide to the top Hydrofire models.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team installs the Parma L with a 130 mm top flue, a cowl for Cape wind and the right roof flashing, and we handle the compliance paperwork. Read about our fireplace installation in Cape Town or explore the full Hydrofire range.
Hydrofire Parma L FAQs
Can I put the Parma L in a bedroom?
Yes, it is sized for a large bedroom or study. It still needs a hearth plate, safe distances to the bed and curtains, and a properly fitted flue. We check all of this when we measure up.
Is a steel fireplace this small worth it?
For a small room, yes. It heats up quickly, uses little wood and costs less to install than a large unit. Its size is the point: a bigger stove would overheat the space and burn more fuel.
