Description
A white stove changes the feel of a room, and the Dovre Vintage 50 in white does it with style. The Vintage 50 White E12 pairs the traditional shape Dovre is known for with a light finish that stands out against brick, stone or a dark feature wall. Underneath the looks is a heavy cast iron wood burning fireplace that puts out serious heat.
Dovre Vintage 50 White Features
Cast iron that keeps the room warm
The stove weighs 155 kg, almost all of it cast iron. Cast iron soaks up heat while the fire is burning and lets it out slowly afterwards. That gives you steady, comfortable warmth instead of a hot blast followed by a cold room.
Plenty of output
With 9 to 11kW on tap, the Vintage 50 is a stove for proper living spaces, not a small study. It is the kind of white cast iron fireplace that can be the main heat source for a family home through a wet Cape winter.
A compact footprint
For all that output, it measures only 44.5 × 69 × 69 cm. That makes it easier to place on a standard hearth or in front of an old chimney opening, and the 150 mm flue connection is a common size that our team works with every day.
Is the Vintage 50 right for your home?
Dovre does not give us a heating area for this model, so we use a rough guide. A 9 to 11kW stove usually suits a large lounge or open plan area of around 70 to 120 m2 with a normal ceiling. Lots of glass, high ceilings or poor insulation change that, so share your room size and we will check. You can also compare other models in our freestanding fireplaces range.
Installation in Cape Town
We supply and install the Vintage 50 with a 150 mm flue, a cowl suited to Cape wind and flashing that keeps out winter rain. Our team handles hearth clearances and compliance. Learn more about our fireplace installation in Cape Town, see the full Dovre range, or read our Dovre fireplace guide.
Dovre Vintage 50 FAQs
Is a white stove hard to keep clean?
Not really. A soft dry cloth once the stove is cold removes most dust and ash. Avoid wiping it while hot and keep wet logs and spills off the top. Our team will show you the basics at handover.
Will the Dovre Vintage 50 heat an open plan room?
At 9 to 11kW it has the output for most open plan living areas. As a rough guide it covers about 70 to 120 m2, depending on ceiling height and insulation.
Can it go into an existing chimney?
Often, yes. We inspect the chimney first and fit a 150 mm liner where needed so the stove draws properly and safely.
