Description
Most stoves are black. The Dovre Vintage 35 in white turns that idea on its head and becomes a piece of furniture as much as a heater. Its vintage lines suit older Cape homes with wooden floors and high skirting, yet the pale colour also looks fresh in a modern white or grey interior. Under the finish it is heavy cast iron, built to give years of steady wood heat.
Dovre Vintage 35 White E12 Features
A white fireplace with presence
A white fireplace draws the eye and lightens the corner it stands in, where a black stove can feel heavy in a small or bright room. It pairs well with natural wood, whitewashed brick and soft furnishings.
Cast iron that keeps warm
At 115 kg, the cast iron body stores heat while the fire burns and keeps giving it out after the flames settle. That means a more even room temperature and fewer reloads through the evening.
Sensible 7kW output
Seven kilowatts is a comfortable size for many lounges. A stove that matches the room runs at a healthy burn, which keeps the glass cleaner and uses wood more efficiently than an oversized unit turned right down.
Size and flue
The stove measures 50 x 55.5 x 68.5 cm and connects to a 150 mm flue, a standard size that keeps installation simple.
Is the Vintage 35 right for your home?
As a rough guide, a 5 to 7kW wood fireplace heats a small to medium lounge of about 40 to 70 m² with a normal ceiling. Lots of glass or a double-volume ceiling lowers that figure, so share your room size with us. You can compare it with other freestanding fireplaces or our full fireplace range.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team supplies and installs the stove with a 150 mm flue, cowl and roof flashing that cope with Cape wind and winter rain, and we provide the compliance certificate. Read about our fireplace installation in Cape Town and our Dovre guide, or browse the whole Dovre fireplace range.
Vintage 35 FAQs
Will a white stove discolour from the heat?
A factory finish made for stoves is designed to handle normal burning temperatures. Avoid overfiring, dust the surface regularly and wipe it with a dry cloth when cold, and it should keep its looks.
Can the Dovre Vintage 35 burn coal?
It is listed for wood, so use dry seasoned hardwood or wood briquettes. They burn cleanly and protect both the firebox and the white finish from soot.
