The Euro Verso 2 is a small closed combustion fireplace for lounges, flats and bedrooms where floor space is tight. A steel body, a vermiculite-lined firebox and a wide German Schott glass door give you steady, controllable wood heat and a clear view of the flames, from a unit that fits a modest hearth.

Vermiculite lining for a hotter burn
Vermiculite boards bounce heat back into the firebox, so the fire runs hotter and the wood burns more completely. That means more warmth from every log, less soot on the glass and less build-up in the flue.
German Schott glass door
The Schott glass handles high temperatures and gives a generous view of the fire. Because the door seals the firebox, sparks stay inside and smoke stays out of the room, which matters when there are children or pets in the house.
Compact and light
At 39 x 37.5 x 74.5 cm and 43 kg, the Verso 2 tucks into a corner or in front of an old fireplace opening, and most floors carry it without extra work. The 150 mm flue leaves from the top, which keeps the flue run short and simple.
Less wood than an open fire
A closed combustion fireplace like this one burns up to a third less wood than an open fire for the same heat. Over a long Cape winter that adds up to fewer bags of wood to buy and less ash to carry out.
Is the Euro Verso 2 right for your home?
With 5 to 9kW of output, the Verso 2 is rated for rooms of about 40 to 55 m², such as a lounge, a TV room or a main bedroom with a normal ceiling. How is the Verso 2 different from the Verso 3?
Both share the same 5 to 9kW output, steel and vermiculite build and 150 mm top flue. The Verso 3 is a little wider, a little shallower and slightly heavier, so the choice usually comes down to the shape of your hearth.
Can I put a Verso fire in a bedroom?
Yes, it is small enough for a main bedroom as long as the room meets the clearance and ventilation rules. We check wall distances, the hearth and the flue route on site before we install.
Does the Verso 2 burn coal?
No, it is made for wood. Dry, seasoned hardwood gives the best heat and keeps the glass much cleaner than damp or soft wood.
