It is a heavy cast iron wood stove from Dovre with a 10.5kW output, built to keep a larger lounge warm through a long Cape Town winter.

A side door for easier loading
The side door lets you feed logs in from the side of the stove. It is handy when the stove sits in a corner or when you want to keep the front glass closed while the fire is burning well.
Cast iron that holds heat
At 160 kg, the Tai 55WD carries a lot of cast iron. The body absorbs heat from the fire and releases it slowly, so the room stays comfortable long after the flames have died down. You burn less wood to hold a steady temperature.
Strong output for bigger rooms
With 10.5kW of heat, the stove has enough power for a large lounge or a living area that opens onto a kitchen or dining room. On cold, wet nights it brings the whole space up to temperature.
Size and flue
It measures 42.5 x 71.5 x 80 cm and connects to a 150 mm flue, the standard size for freestanding stoves.
