The Purestoves Style 2 Decor is a closed combustion wood fireplace built around a simple idea: a strong steel body, a fully lined firebox and good glass. It is a practical indoor fireplace for a lounge or family room, made to give years of steady heat without fuss.

A firebox lined from end to end
The whole combustion chamber is lined with Roka chamotte fireproof bricks from Greece, 30 mm thick. The bricks protect the steel, hold heat and help the wood burn hotter and cleaner, so you get more warmth from each load.
Quality fireplace glass
The door uses German Schott glass that resists heat up to 850 deg C, with rope seals behind the glass to keep the door airtight. A good seal means better control over the burn and less wood used.
Steel where it matters
The steel is 2 mm thick on the front and 1.5 mm on the sides, and every side is shielded by the firebricks. Cast iron grills sit under the fire, and the body is finished in Hungarian FKI high heat paint rated to 650 deg C.

What is a closed combustion fireplace?
It is a fireplace with a sealed glass door and controlled air supply. Because the fire burns in a closed box, far more heat stays in the room than with an open hearth, and you use less wood for the same warmth.
Why do the firebricks matter?
The 30 mm chamotte bricks shield the steel from direct flame, store heat and keep the firebox hot, which helps the wood burn cleanly. They are a wear part, so we can replace them if they crack after years of use.
