Two views of one fire
The tunnel layout lets you see the flames from the front and the back. It creates a natural divide in an open-plan layout without closing the room off, and it becomes the centre of both spaces.
Solid build
The body is made from thick plate steel with a cast iron door, so it feels heavy and stable. Clean lines mean it suits contemporary and traditional interiors.
Clean, efficient burning
A tertiary burning system re-burns gases in the firebox, lifting efficiency to 80% and reducing smoke. Primary and secondary air controls let you set the burn rate, and pre-heated airwash helps keep both glass panels cleaner. The firebox is lined with vermiculite, with a cast iron grate and removable ash pan.
Multi fuel
As a multi fuel fireplace, the Ottawa DS Tunnel burns wood and other approved solid fuels, which helps when good firewood is hard to find.
Size and flue
The unit measures 42 x 58 x 57 cm and takes a 150 mm top flue.

It can, but it is made to be seen from both sides. It shows best as a room divider or on an island hearth between two spaces.
Which side do I load it from?
You load from the door side. We position the fireplace so the loading side faces the room you use most, and keep the wood store close by.
