Sentinel Ottawa Cylindrical Fireplace Features
A cylindrical fireplace with presence
A cylindrical fireplace draws the eye without blocking the room. At 95.6 cm tall and 48.5 cm across, it has a slim footprint that works well in open-plan spaces, beside a staircase or as a corner feature.
Efficient wood heat
With 80% efficiency, more of each log is turned into heat for your room. The steel body warms up quickly after lighting, so the space feels comfortable sooner on a cold evening.
Flexible installation
The 125 mm flue can leave from the top or the rear. That gives our installers room to plan around beams, ceiling heights and existing chimneys, and makes the fireplace easier to place where you actually want it.
Is the Ottawa right for your home?
Sentinel rates it to heat about 360 m³ of space. With a standard ceiling height that covers a generous room, so it suits medium to large lounges and open-plan areas. Glass walls and draughts reduce that, so we confirm sizing on site. Compare it with other freestanding fireplaces too.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team supplies and installs the Ottawa with a 125 mm flue, a cowl chosen for Cape wind and roof flashing sealed against winter rain, and we provide the compliance certificate. See our fireplace installation in Cape Town or browse more Sentinel fireplaces.
Ottawa Cylindrical FAQs
What does the 8-12KW in the name mean?
The Ottawa has a nominal output of 9KW, and you can burn it lower or higher within roughly that band by adjusting the air and the amount of wood. Running it at a steady middle setting gives the cleanest burn.
Is the Sentinel Ottawa Cylindrical a wood fireplace?
Yes, it is made for wood. Use dry, seasoned hardwood and avoid treated timber or rubbish. Good wood gives cleaner glass, less soot in the flue and more heat.
