Description
Good heat does not have to take up half the lounge. The Sentinel 033 Square packs an 8kW output into a neat cast iron body just 34 cm deep, with a crisp square shape that suits modern and traditional rooms alike. It is a multi fuel fireplace, so you can burn wood or coal, and it is a sensible pick for families who want reliable winter heat without a bulky stove.
Sentinel 033 Square Fireplace Features
Cast iron that keeps working
At 102 kg, the 033 Square has the weight of solid cast iron. It heats up steadily and keeps releasing warmth after the fire dies down, so the room stays comfortable late into the evening. With 78% efficiency, more of every load becomes heat for your home.
Easy fire control
Separate primary and secondary air controls let you choose a quick blaze or a slow burn. A multi fuel lever moves the grate to shake ash through, which keeps coal burning well. The handle and levers are stainless steel and stay smart for years.
Simple to clean
The firebox is lined with vermiculite firebrick and takes logs of about 30 centimetres. The ash pan slides out for a quick, tidy clean.
Flexible flue options
The 150 mm flue can leave from the top or the rear, so it works with a straight pipe through the ceiling or a connection into an existing chimney. The unit measures 34 x 55.5 x 57 cm.
Is the 033 Square right for your home?
Sentinel gives this 8kW cast iron fireplace a heating area of about 115 m2. That covers most medium to large lounges and many open-plan rooms. High ceilings or lots of glass will cut that figure, so share your room size with us first. You can also compare our wider range of freestanding fireplaces.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team supplies and installs the 033 Square with a 150 mm flue, a cowl that stands up to the Cape wind and roof flashing for winter rain. We also handle compliance. Learn about our fireplace installation in Cape Town or see every Sentinel fireplace we stock.
Sentinel 033 Square FAQs
Can I burn coal in the Sentinel 033 Square?
Yes. It is a multi fuel model with a grate you can shake using the lever, which helps coal burn evenly. Dry, seasoned wood works just as well.
Will a square fireplace fit my existing hearth?
Its 34 cm depth and 55.5 cm width make it one of the easier stoves to fit into a smaller opening. With a rear flue option, it can often connect straight into your chimney once lined.
