Description
The Heeta 700 Oakley is a large freestanding wood fireplace from the SAfire Heeta range, made for spaces that a small stove simply cannot keep warm. It pairs a wide steel firebox with a log base underneath, so this log base wood fireplace stores your wood right where you need it and the whole unit stands at a comfortable viewing height. Homes with open-plan living areas, restaurants, guest farms and wine farm tasting rooms all suit it well.
Heeta 700 Oakley Wood Fireplace Features
Serious heat for big rooms
With an output of 9 to 12kW and an efficiency of 80%, the fireplace turns a good share of each log into usable heat instead of sending it up the flue. You get a strong fire on cold Cape evenings and you use less wood across the season than an open hearth would need.
A log base that earns its space
The built-in log base gives you a neat place to stack a night or two of firewood. It keeps the floor tidy, raises the fire to eye level and adds weight and presence to the design. The steel body measures 36.5 x 68.5 x 88 cm and weighs 124 kg, so it sits firmly on its hearth.
Straightforward flue layout
The 150 mm flue leaves from the top of the unit. That makes a straight run through the ceiling and roof easy to plan, which usually means a cleaner look and a strong draw.
Is the Heeta 700 fireplace right for your home?
SAfire Heeta rates the Oakley for a heating volume of about 300 m³. With a normal ceiling height, that covers well over 100 m2 of floor space, which suits an open-plan lounge and dining area, a large family room or a small venue. High ceilings, big glass doors and a draughty older home will reduce that figure, so send us your room size and a few photos and we will confirm the fit. You can also compare it with other freestanding fireplaces in our range.
Installation in Cape Town
Every freestanding stove installation we do includes the correct 150 mm flue, a cowl that copes with the south-easter and roof flashing that keeps winter rain out. We also handle the compliance certificate. Read more about our fireplace installation in Cape Town or view the full SAfire Heeta range.
Heeta 700 Oakley FAQs
What is the difference between the log base and a standard base?
The log base adds a storage space under the firebox for your wood. It lifts the fire higher, keeps logs dry and handy, and gives the fireplace a fuller, more solid look in the room. The firebox and heat output stay the same.
Can a large wood fireplace work in a restaurant or wine farm?
Yes. The high output and big heating volume make it a sound choice for tasting rooms, dining areas and function spaces. We look at ceiling height, airflow and where guests sit before we recommend a position.
Does it need a brick chimney?
No. It runs on a 150 mm steel flue that we take through the ceiling and roof. Where a safe existing chimney is available, we can line it and connect the fireplace to that instead.
