Cast iron where it counts
As a true cast iron fireplace, the top, base and firebox are cast iron, which stores heat and keeps radiating it well after the last log goes in. A thick baffle plate keeps more of that heat in the stove rather than letting it race up the flue. Our listing gives 81% efficiency, which means noticeably less wood than an open fire.
Cleaner burning, clearer glass
Primary, secondary and tertiary air feed the fire. Part of the secondary air washes down the glass so the window stays clearer for longer, and the tertiary burn helps reduce smoke. A single dial controls the air supply, so it is easy to turn the fire up or slow it down.
