Description
The Plamen Dora 10 proves that a classic-looking stove can still be highly efficient. A cast iron firebox sits inside a smart steel surround, available in black or a deep green, and the whole unit is rated at 82% efficiency with an A+ energy class. With 7kW to 9kW of heat, it is sized for the rooms most South African families actually live in.
Plamen Dora 10 Wood Stove Features
Cast iron where it counts
The firebox is cast iron, which takes the heat of the fire and releases it gradually into the room. You get a soft, radiant warmth that carries on after the last log has burnt down, so the room does not go cold the moment the flames fade.
Efficient and economical
An 82% efficiency rating means most of the energy in your firewood ends up as heat in the room. Over a winter that adds up to less wood bought, less wood carried and less ash to clear.
Tall and slim
The Dora 10 measures 38 x 98.7 x 43.5 cm, a narrow and upright shape that leaves space for furniture. It weighs 65 kg and connects to a 120 mm flue at the top. The flue outlet height can be adjusted, which helps our team line the pipe up neatly.
Is the Dora 10 right for your home?
Plamen designed the Dora 10 for small and medium rooms. As a rough guide, 7kW to 9kW suits a lounge of about 40 to 70 m2 with a normal ceiling. For a big open-plan space you will want more output. Compare it with other freestanding fireplaces or read our 10 questions to ask a fireplace installer.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team supplies and installs the Dora 10 with a 120 mm flue, cowl and flashing chosen for Cape wind and winter rain, and we hand over a compliance certificate. Learn about our fireplace installation service and see each Plamen stove in our Plamen range.
Plamen Dora FAQs
What colours does the Plamen Dora 10 come in?
The steel surround comes in black or green. Black suits most modern rooms, while green gives a warmer, country feel. Ask us which colour is in stock.
Is the Dora 10 big enough for an open-plan home?
It is best in a small to medium room. In a large open-plan space with high ceilings it will struggle on the coldest nights, so we would suggest a bigger stove.
