This 11kW steel wood fireplace has a wide, frameless black glass front that shows off the whole fire, and enough output to warm a space of roughly 106 to 120 m2. It is a statement piece that also does the hard work on cold Cape nights.

Frameless glass, clean lines
The front of the Omega is one sheet of black glass with no visible frame. When the fire is lit, the flames become the focal point of the room. When it is out, the dark glass and plain steel body look calm and modern, so it works with most contemporary interiors.
Real output for big rooms
At 11kW nominal output the Omega is one of the stronger units in the Hydrofire range. Hydrofire lists a heating area of 106 to 120 m2, which covers a large lounge and dining area together. You get one warm zone rather than a hot spot by the fire and a cold kitchen.
Efficient use of firewood
With a 75% efficiency rating, far more of the heat in each log ends up in the room than with an open hearth. That means fewer trips to the woodpile and lower fuel bills through a long winter.
Solid steel build
The body is all steel and weighs 175 kg, with a footprint of 80.6 x 48.2 cm and a height of 82.6 cm. The 150mm flue leaves from the top, which keeps the install simple in most homes.

Is the Omega fireplace too big for a normal lounge?
For a closed lounge of 40 to 60 m2 it is usually too much heat. The Omega shines in large or open-plan areas of about 106 to 120 m2. For smaller rooms we would point you to a lower kW model.
What flue does the Hydrofire Omega need?
It uses a 150mm flue from the top outlet. We work out the flue length, cowl and flashing for your roof type on site, so the draw is strong and the roof stays watertight.
Is this freestanding fireplace for sale with installation included?
