Description
The Hydrofire Nova Side Glass hangs on the wall instead of standing on the floor, so it frees up space and becomes the focal point of the room. Glass on the front and both sides shows the fire from almost any seat, and the thick cast iron body keeps giving off heat long after the logs have burned down.
Hydrofire Nova Side Glass Wall Mounted Fireplace Features
Three sided glass
Most stoves give you one window. The Nova shows the flames through the front and both sides, so it reads as a true glass fireplace from anywhere in an open-plan room. It works well on a bare feature wall, in a lounge or in a large main bedroom.
Cast iron firebox
The combustion chamber is cast iron with a cast iron grate. Air intake vents let you set how fast the fire burns, and the removable ash pan makes cleaning quick. It takes logs of around 25 centimetres comfortably.
Space saving design
As a wall mounted fireplace it sits off the floor, which keeps the room open and makes cleaning underneath easy. The 150 mm flue leaves from the top and can be sprayed black so it blends with the stove.

Is the Nova right for your home?
At around 10kW, the Nova is rated for spaces of up to 106 m², so it handles a large lounge or an open-plan living area with a normal ceiling. Double-volume rooms or walls of glass need more heat, so send us your room size and we will confirm the fit. You can also compare it with our wall mounted fireplaces.
Installation in Cape Town
Hanging a 107 kg cast iron unit needs a solid wall and the right fixings, so our team checks the wall first, then installs the Nova with a 150 mm flue, cowl and flashing suited to Cape weather. Later on, our glass and rope replacement service keeps the door seals and glass in good order. Browse the Hydrofire range or read our wall mounted fireplace guide.
Nova Side Glass FAQs
Can any wall carry the Nova fireplace?
It needs a solid brick or concrete wall that can take the weight safely. Drywall and thin partition walls are not suitable without extra support. We inspect the wall and the flue route before we confirm the installation.
Does the side glass get dirty quickly?
Not if you burn dry, seasoned wood and give the fire enough air when you light it. Damp wood and a fire turned down too low are the usual causes of black glass. A quick wipe when the stove is cold keeps all three panes clear.
Where is the Nova made?
The Nova is imported from Bulgaria and carries CE certification, so it is built to European standards.
