Is there a freestanding version of the Vesta 70?
Yes. The same firebox is also sold on a powder-coated steel stand as a freestanding fireplace. The built-in version suits a new wall or cladded chimney breast, while the stand version works where you want the fire out in the room.
Can the Northern Flame Vesta 70 heat an open-plan home?
At 12kW and a rated area of about 102 m2 it handles most open-plan living areas well. Adding the hot air duct helps push warmth into a passage or second room. We check ceiling height and layout before recommending it.
What fuel does it burn?
It is built for wood. Dry, seasoned hardwood gives the cleanest glass and the steadiest heat. Damp wood smokes, blackens the window and wastes energy.
