Description
The Northern Flame Kenna 82 Double-sided Ledge is built for homes where one fire has to work for two spaces. It sits on a low ledge base, shows the flames through glass on both sides and puts out a strong 13kW of heat, which makes it a natural fit between a lounge and a dining area, or in the middle of a large open-plan room. The lines are clean and modern, and the black borders on the glass frame the fire neatly.

A fire you can see from both sides
Most fireplaces face one way. The Kenna 82 has a door and a large Schott Robax ceramic glass panel on each face, so people on either side get the same view. Ceramic glass handles high heat well and stays clear for longer when the fire is burning properly. The doors are hung to open from the right, and our team can swap them to open from the left if that suits your layout better.
Strong, efficient heat
With a nominal 13kW output and a rated efficiency of 78.50%, a good share of the energy in your wood ends up in the room rather than up the flue. The firebox is lined with vermiculite, which reflects heat back into the fire, helps the wood burn hotter and cleaner, and protects the steel body.
Built to last
The steel body weighs 145 kg and measures 57 x 82 x 54.2 cm, so it is a solid, stable unit. It connects to a 180 mm flue from the top outlet, which gives a strong draw on windy days.
Is the Kenna 82 right for your home?
Northern Flame gives the Kenna 82 a heating area of about 125 m2, so it suits a large lounge, a big open-plan living area, or two linked rooms. Because it is a double sided fireplace, it needs space on both sides and a clear path for the flue straight up. Kenna 82 Double-Sided FAQs
Can a double sided fireplace heat two rooms?
Yes, as long as the two spaces are open to each other through the fireplace opening or nearby. Heat radiates from both glass faces, so each side warms up. In two fully closed rooms, the main heat stays where the flue and body sit, so we plan the position with you.
Does the Kenna 82 need to be built into a wall?
No. It is a freestanding wood fireplace on its own ledge base, so it can stand in the open or be framed by a partition wall. We advise on the clearances and hearth it needs before we install.
What wood should I burn in it?
Use dry, seasoned hardwood such as rooikrans or blue gum that has been stored under cover. Wet wood gives less heat, more smoke and dirty glass, so good firewood makes a big difference to how well the fire performs.
