Description
The Northern Flame Kenna 65 is a double-sided fireplace insert that turns an old, smoky see-through hearth into a clean-burning closed fire. It gives 10kW of heat, shows the flames through Schott Robax ceramic glass on both faces, and comes with its own convection box so the installation stays neat.
Northern Flame Kenna 65 Features
Glass on both sides, clean black borders
Each door carries a large panel of Schott Robax glass framed with an opaque black edge. The look is minimal and modern, so the fire reads as the main feature from either room. It also makes a striking divider between a lounge and a dining area.
Doors you can set up your way
The doors hinge from the right as standard and can be refitted to open from the left if that suits your room better. The handles lift off and stay cool, or you can fix them in place with the screw supplied.
Efficient, cleaner burning
A vermiculite-lined firebox and an efficiency rating of 78.5 percent mean more of each log ends up as warmth in your home. The insert is listed as compliant with the European Eco-Design 2022 rules for wood, so it burns far cleaner than an open fire.
Size and flue
The insert measures 46 × 65 × 54.2 cm, weighs 101 kg and vents through a 150 mm top flue. The convection box helps push warm air into the room and gives a tidy finish around the frame.
Is the Kenna 65 right for your home?
Northern Flame rates it to heat about 96 m2, which suits a medium to large lounge, or two connected rooms with a normal ceiling height. Big glass sliders and high ceilings reduce that, so send us your room sizes and we will check the fit. Installation in Cape Town
Our team fits the Kenna 65 into your existing double-sided opening or into a new cladded surround, with the correct 150 mm flue, cowl and flashing to handle south-easter wind and winter rain. Most old see-through hearths can take the insert without major masonry work. Read about our built-in fireplace design and cladding service, or browse the full Northern Flame fireplace range.
Kenna 65 FAQs
Can the Northern Flame Kenna 65 replace my old open double-sided fireplace?
Yes, that is the job it was designed for. The insert slides into an existing see-through opening, closes it in with glass doors and connects to a new flue liner. You get far more heat and much less smoke in the room.
Which way do the doors open?
They open from the right out of the box. If your furniture or walkway makes a left-hand opening easier, our installers can rehang the doors to open from the left during the fitting.
