Description
Wide, low and clean, the Northern Flame Kenna 100 Ledge is built for homeowners who want a long, landscape fire picture and real heat to go with it. It measures 100 cm across, puts out 15.2kW and is designed to sit on a ledge or plinth, so it can look almost built in without the building work.
Northern Flame Kenna 100 Ledge Large Wood Fireplace Features
A large, framed fire view
The Schott Robax ceramic glass has an opaque black border that frames the flames like a picture. The door opens from the right as standard, but it can be swapped to open from the left to suit your room.
Heat by radiation and convection
The Kenna 100 comes with its own convection box, which pushes warm air into the room as well as radiating heat through the glass. It also gives a neat finish when the fireplace sits on a ledge.
Clean, controlled burning
One lever below the door runs the primary air, secondary air and air wash, so lighting and turning down the fire is easy. Secondary combustion, a stainless steel and vermiculite baffle and a vermiculite lined chamber keep heat in the firebox and help the glass stay clean. Efficiency is rated at 77%, and it is Eco-Design 2022 compliant.
Built for long logs
The firebox comfortably burns logs of around 50 centimetres. It connects to a 180 mm top flue and weighs 147 kg.
Is the Kenna 100 right for your home?
Northern Flame rates it at a heating area of 146 m2, so it suits large lounges, open-plan living and dining areas and rooms with higher ceilings. For a medium room, a smaller Kenna or another model in our freestanding fireplaces range may be the better fit.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team supplies and installs the Kenna 100 Ledge with a 180 mm flue, the right cowl for coastal wind and rain-tight roof flashing, and we can build the ledge or plinth too. Kenna 100 Ledge FAQs
Can the Kenna 100 Ledge stand on its own?
Yes. It is designed to sit on a ledge or plinth, and an optional stand turns it into a tall freestanding unit. We will help you choose the look that works with your hearth and flue.
Does the door handle get hot?
The handle is removable and works as a cold handle, so you clip it on when you need it. It can also be fixed permanently with the screw supplied inside the door.
