Description
The Northern Flame Edan is a stove that earns its keep. Cast from pure Australian iron ore, not recycled scrap, it has a cast iron body, door and a thick cast iron top that keeps radiating heat long after the fire burns down. It burns wood or other solid fuels, and that flat top is handy for boiling a kettle when the power is off.

Built from quality cast iron
At 118 kg, the Edan has real mass. Cast iron stores heat and releases it slowly, giving you an even, comfortable warmth instead of quick bursts. The polished chrome handle and air controls add a neat finishing touch.
Burns clean, burns long
A low vent on the door supplies primary air up through the grate. A second vent higher up finishes off combustion and sweeping warm air down the glass to keep it clearer. Tight door gaskets mean you can shut the air down at night, then open it in the morning, add fuel and have a lively fire again.
A true multi fuel fireplace
A riddling grate in cast iron lets you burn wood or coal, and the firebox is lined with cast iron firebricks. Logs of about 30 centimetres fit well. The baffle and ash pan are removable, and an ash pan tool and a glove come in the box.
Fits most hearths
Measuring 44.5 x 49 x 71.5 cm, the Edan slips into most medium sized fireplace openings, and the 150 mm flue can leave from the top or the rear. The legs are removable too.

Northern Flame Edan FAQs
Can the Edan burn coal as well as wood?
Yes. It is a multi fuel stove with a cast iron riddling grate, so it handles wood and coal. Use dry wood or the right smokeless fuel for the cleanest burn and best heat.
Will the Edan stay alight overnight?
It has an overnight burn system. Close the air controls before bed and the airtight seals slow the fire right down. In the morning, open the vents, add fuel and it comes back to life.
