Description
The Northern Flame Azar is one of the heaviest stoves in the Ecosy+ range, and you can feel it in the heat. At 12kW and 130 kg, it is built for large living spaces, with a raised firebox on a log storage stand and polished chrome handles that give it a smart, traditional feel.

Solid build, long-lasting heat
A 10mm steel top, 5mm steel sides and a cast iron door give the Azar fireplace real mass. It takes a while to heat through, then keeps radiating warmth for hours, which makes it well suited to long Cape winter evenings.
Multi fuel flexibility
As a multi fuel fireplace, the Azar burns wood or smokeless fuel on its cast iron riddling grate. Riddle the ash through to the removable pan and the fire picks up again with fresh air from below.
Efficient and easy to manage
A tertiary air system burns off gases that would otherwise go up the flue, and an air wash helps keep the glass clear. Rated efficiency is 76%. Separate primary and secondary levers let you control the burn closely, and the vermiculite lined chamber takes a good-sized log.
Is the Azar right for your home?
Northern Flame rates it for about 115 m2, enough for a large lounge or an open-plan living area. A 12kw fireplace can overheat a small room, so if your space is under about 60 m2 we will usually point you to the Snug or Hampton. Installation in Cape Town

Azar FAQs
Is the Northern Flame Azar with stand the same as the Snug with stand?
No. The Azar is the larger 12kW model with a 150 mm flue. The Snug is a smaller 10kW stove with a smaller flue, suited to medium rooms.
What comes in the box with the Azar?
You get an ash pan tool, a glove for the door and air levers, and the instruction manual. The flue kit is quoted separately to suit your roof.
Can the Azar run all night?
With the air turned down and a load of hardwood or smokeless fuel, it holds a slow burn for several hours, so the room is still warm in the morning.
