Description
Big rooms need big heat, and the Northern Flame Azar Double-sided delivers 12 to 14kW from a seriously solid body. Its doors are cast iron, the top is 10mm steel and the sides are 5mm steel, all wrapped around a very large window, finished with polished chrome handles and air levers. Fit it into a hearth that opens onto two rooms, or stand it in the middle of an open-plan area and enjoy the fire from both sides.

A true double sided fireplace
Glass on two faces means the fire is on show from front and back. It works as a room divider between a lounge and dining area, or as a freestanding centrepiece where people gather on both sides.
Clean, efficient burning
A chrome pull lever at the base works the tertiary air system, which re-burns gases inside the stove for more heat and less fuel. Primary and secondary air controls fine-tune the fire, and a pre-heated air wash helps keep the glass clean. The Azar carries an A energy class rating.
Multi fuel flexibility
A cast iron riddling grate lets you burn wood or coal. The firebox takes good-sized logs, the baffle plate lifts out for chimney sweeping, and a removable ash pan with its own tool makes clean-up simple. A glove is included for handling the door and levers.
Built heavy
At 157 kg and 54.6 x 57.4 x 61.8 cm, the Azar is a substantial piece. It connects to a 150 mm top flue.
Is the Azar double-sided right for your home?
The rated heating area is 125 m2. A 14kW fireplace like this suits large open-plan homes, double-volume rooms or two connected spaces. For smaller rooms we would suggest a lower output model from our freestanding range or our double-sided fireplaces.

Can the Azar be installed between two rooms?
Yes. It is designed to sit in a hearth that is open to two rooms, with glass facing each side. We check the opening, wall and flue route on site so both sides look neat and the stove draws well.
Is a 14kW fireplace too much for a normal lounge?
Usually, yes. At up to 14kW the Azar is made for large spaces of around 125 m2. In a standard lounge it would overheat the room, so we would point you to a smaller model.
