The Nordflam Modena is a compact cast iron wood fireplace with a tall, upright shape and a small footprint. It gives out 6.5kW of heat, which is the right size for a typical lounge, a study or a cottage, and it does it efficiently. If you want a proper wood fire without a large unit taking over the room, the Modena is a smart choice.

Cast iron for even, lasting warmth
Cast iron soaks up heat while the fire burns and keeps giving it back after the flames settle. That makes the Modena a good slow combustion fireplace: the room stays comfortable for longer and you top up the wood less often.
High efficiency
With a rated efficiency of 81%, the Modena turns most of the energy in your firewood into heat for the room. Better burning also means less smoke from the chimney and cleaner glass.
Slim and space saving
The body measures 39.4 x 38.3 x 87.9 cm, so it takes up little floor space but still gives you a good view of the fire. It weighs 89 kg and connects to a 130 mm flue, which keeps the flue run neat and less bulky.

Is the Nordflam Modena big enough for my lounge?
For a lounge of up to about 70 m2 with a normal ceiling, yes. At 6.5kW it brings a room up to temperature without overheating it. If your space is larger or has double-volume ceilings, we will suggest a stronger model.
Can the Modena go in a corner?
Yes. Its narrow, upright body makes it a good corner fireplace. It still needs the correct clearances to walls and a non-combustible hearth, which we measure and plan during the site visit.
Do I need an existing chimney?
No. We install a new 130 mm flue through the ceiling and roof, or connect to an existing chimney where it is safe and the size suits.
