Description
Most stoves give you a window. The Nordflam Marsala gives you a panorama. Its glass wraps around the firebox for an uninterrupted 180 degree view of the flames, so the fire looks good from the couch, the dining table and the doorway. Below the fire sits a convenient log base, so your next few logs are always within reach.
Nordflam Marsala Wood Stove Features
A 180 degree fireplace view
Wraparound glass is the reason buyers pick the Marsala. In an open-plan home, people see the fire from several angles, not just head on. It turns the stove into the focal point of the room, even when it is not lit.
Cast iron that keeps warming
The Marsala is a cast iron wood stove weighing 128 kg. Cast iron stores the heat of the fire and gives it back slowly, so the room stays warm for longer after the last log, and you burn less wood to keep a steady temperature.
Efficient heat
Our specification lists a 10kW output and 77% efficiency. That means a good share of the energy in each log ends up as heat in your lounge rather than going up the flue.
A tall, slim footprint
At 35 x 46 x 103.4 cm the Marsala is tall and slim, with the log store built in. It needs less floor space than a box stove with a separate wood basket next to it, which helps in smaller lounges.
Is the Nordflam Marsala right for your home?
Our specification gives a heating area of 78 m², which suits a medium to large lounge with a normal ceiling. High ceilings, lots of glass and draughts all reduce the area it can heat, so send us your room size before you order. You can compare it with other freestanding fireplaces in our range.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team supplies and installs the Marsala with a 150 mm flue, cowl and roof flashing that stand up to Cape wind and winter rain, and we handle the compliance certificate. Find out more about our fireplace installation in Cape Town, or look at the full Nordflam fireplace range.
Nordflam Marsala FAQs
Does the 180 degree glass on the Nordflam Marsala get dirty quickly?
Glass stays cleanest when you burn dry, seasoned wood with enough air. Wet wood and a fire run very low cause soot. A wipe with a damp cloth and a little ash on a cold stove usually clears it.
How much wood fits in the log base?
The base is meant for a handful of logs ready for the evening, not your full winter supply. It keeps wood dry and close, so you do not walk outside every time the fire needs feeding.
