Description
Refuelling a stove through the front can let smoke and ash spill out. The Nordflam Breno solves that with a side loading door, so you can slide large logs straight in and keep the main door shut. It is a compact cast iron stove from LaBraise, made for steady heat in a medium sized room.
Nordflam Breno with Side Door Features
Side loading door
The side door has a solid handle and opens wide enough for large logs. Loading from the side keeps the front glass cleaner and is easier on the hearth around the stove.
Cast iron deflector
Inside, a cast iron deflector lengthens the path the hot gases take before they leave the firebox. More heat goes into the stove body and the room, and less goes up the flue.
Compact cast iron body
The Breno measures 40.7 x 45.5 x 65.5 cm and weighs 74 kg. Its small footprint fits a standard hearth plate, a corner or a narrow chimney breast.
Output and flue
It gives 9kW at 71% efficiency and connects to a 150 mm flue.
Is the Breno right for your home?
Nordflam rates this 9kW wood fireplace for about 70 m², which suits a medium lounge or a family room with a standard ceiling. For a larger open plan space, look at bigger models in our freestanding fireplaces range.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team supplies and installs the stove with a 150 mm flue, a cowl that holds up in Cape wind and sealed roof flashing for winter rain, and handles compliance. We also leave enough clearance on the loading side so the door opens freely. Read more about our fireplace installation in Cape Town or see the full Nordflam range.
Nordflam Breno FAQs
Which side does the Nordflam Breno load from?
The loading door is on the side of the stove, as well as the main front door. Tell us which way your room flows and we will place the stove so the side door is easy to reach.
Does a side loading fireplace need more space?
A little. You need room beside the stove to open the side door and pass logs in safely. We check side clearances when we plan the hearth.
